Some info about The MojoBox..

Now, your natural time keeping can be heard by the audience!!

The MojoBox is a percussion instrument, a tiny block of wood, size: 20x10x2 cm, cut out from solid high grade mahogany!! You simply put it on the floor in front of you and stomp away, this gives you the sound of a bass drum, a steady pulse to play your music over. Very suitable for bands with no drums and/or for example troubadours, cover-bands, drummers/percussionists.. Hey.. In fact, the MojoBox fits right into any music situation that needs rhythm.. This little box is great for a variety of performances, as well as rehearsals and jams. 

After years of using various stomping devices myself I finally have come to this, The MojoBox! It began with a big box with a dynamic microphone under it and step by step I developed the thing into this small wood gadget with a contact pickup built in..

Plugs right into any bass amp or via a pre-amp/eq into a PA-system!! This gives the player a wide spectrum of sounds, from a "fat" bass drum or a normal "foot-against-floorboards" stomp to high pitched click/clap sounds.. The bigger the amp the fatter the "stomp" will be of course! I use(and recommend) a BOSS EQ-7 or a similar graphic EQ..

The MojoBox is designed and constructed to last during intense tours and concerts for many, many years!! It requires no maintenance and if an accident should occur it's easily repaired..

I think only imagination sets the limits here when it comes to using the MojoBox.. 

One can hit/scratch/knock on it with the hands and stomp/tap with the feet!! And several Mojobox'es can be used simultaneously with different sounds.. Many a solo-musician can find good use for the MB, small band settings is also a natural place for this percussive piece of wood! A drummer doesn't need to carry along his kick drum to the gigs, haha! Less(and smaller) stuff to drag along is always a good thing for a musician!!

The sound is very different depending on where you hit it, with three of them one can even play "congas", haha!! Stomp on it with your heel, forefoot or tap with your fingers!

Hallo liebe Blues & Gospel-Freunde!

Vor ein paar Tagen habe ich die lang erwartete "MojoBox" von meinem Blues-Bruder Johan Eliasson aka "Bottleneck John" aus Östersund, Schweden, bekommen. Es ist eine sehr professionell und solide gearbeitete Stompbox – nicht nur für Gitarristen. Die Abmessungen sing gerade richtig um im Handgepäck zu jedem Gig mitgenommen zu werden. Einfach mit einem Klinkenkabel anschließen und wenn man nicht gerade Schugröße 47 hat, kann man seinem Rhythmus mit dem Fußballen, der Ferse oder sogar mit 2 Füßen freien Lauf lassen.

Das massive Mahagony-Stück ist wunderschön graviert und liefert eine riesige Bandbreite an Sounds. Es hängt viel davon ab wie man das Signal zur PA leitet. Mit einem guten Mixer kann es direkt angeschlossen werden. Alles über 100 Hz abgedreht und alles unter 100 Hz angehoben bekommt man "normale" Fußschritte oder auch den Klang einer Base-Drum, wie man eben will. Wenn man dazwischen noch ein Equalizer einsetzt, ist eine neue Klangwelt geboren. Tiefer, tiefer Bass wie aus einer riesigen Pauke ! Aber Vorsicht,etwas zuviel Gain und das Mischpult leuchtet wie in der Silvesternacht .....

Es gibt nur eine Handvoll Firmen die solche Stomp-Box erzeugen. Ich habe sie alle ausprobiert und glaubt mir – die einzige die mich voll und ganz zufriedenstellt zur Unterstützung meiner Resonatorgitarren, der Mundharmonika und meiner Stimme ist meine neue "MojoBox" von Bottleneck John. Mit dieser Stompbox kann ich meine Rhytmen viel exakter und ermüdungsfreier als bisher grooven lassen und mein Monitor-sound ist um Welten besser. Gleichzeitig habe ich auch keine Feedbackprobleme mehr wie in früheren Tagen, als ich ein Mikrophon neben den Füßen verwendet habe, einfach großartig.

Also auf und holt euch die "MojoBox" und ich bin mir sicher, daß ihr genauso zufrieden sein werdet wie ich.

Some days ago I got the long awaited "MojoBox" from my special-buddy Johan Eliasson aka "Bottleneck John" from Östersund , Sweden . It´s a very professional and solid-made stompbock – not only for guitar-players. They dimensions are right to be carried easily to each gig, connected with a "banana" and if you have not 47-feets you can play it also with two legs, heel or your toes.

The warm, brown mahogany-piece is very nice engraved and delivers a great, wide range of sounds. It depends on how you send it to your PA. With a good mixer it can be plugged in directly, cut all over 100 Hz and boos all under 100 Hz. So you can sound like normal walking shoes or like a little base-drum, like you want. If you connect a little EQ-pedal between, a new world of sound is born. Deep, deep bass like a big, big Cajon! But be carefully, with too much gain your mixing-board will be shining like on New Year around 12 a .m..

In theese days there are only a few brands for stoompboxes on the market. I check them all out personal and believe me – the only one which satisfied all my needs for playing my blues-, roots- and gospel-music is my new "MojoBox" from Bottleneck John. With this stompbox I can play my rhytm more correct than ever before and my monitor-sound is much, much better and so I will never have any feedback-problems like the days before, when I used a microphone on the floor.

So get out and try to get one "MojoBox" for yourself and you will be satisfied too.

Hi there!
Last night we rehearsed for the first time using the MojoBox and it sounds really, really nice. I don't even need any EQ/Preamp, just run it straight into my small sound mixer, much better sound than any of my own selfmade stompboxes. (Of course!!)

A warm and fat tone! Thanks to my Duolian and the MojoBox things starting to sound like I want it to.

It really was an experience, found just the right "stomp-sound" I've been looking for!
